Vocational Teacher for the Health and Care Program

Hagagymnasiet is a high school located in the heart of Borlänge, with approximately 600 students. The school offers national programs including the Child and Leisure Program, the Economic Program, the Sales and Service Program, the Social Science Program, and the Health and Care Program. In the same premises, there are also Introduction Programs which operate as a separate school unit with about 200 students. A total of around 100 people work at Hagagymnasiet and the Introduction Programs.

Hagagymnasiet is characterized by openness, collaboration, and commitment. The school places a strong focus on student development and learning. Competent and experienced staff work in various teams and subject groups. Hagagymnasiet is now entering an exciting development phase, including moving the entire school to new modern premises in the local area. The school will also begin the transition to subject grades and new curricula, similar to all other high schools in Sweden, while interest in health and care is increasing.

Due to the increased interest in health and care among our applicants, Hagagymnasiet is now seeking a colleague as a vocational teacher for the Health and Care Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a vocational teacher in the Health and Care Program, your responsibilities include planning and delivering high-quality instruction, both individually and collaboratively. Assessment and grading are also integral parts of your work, as is continuous evaluation. You will be part of a program team where you work closely with each other with the student at the center. Your role also includes being a mentor for students and working on the continuous development of teaching and education as a whole.

As a vocational teacher, you will also have contact with professionals in the health and care fields and other external stakeholders in the industry. You will also communicate with guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education and experience in the health and care sector, preferably with a vocational teacher qualification, and substantial work experience in the aforementioned areas or in a field that the employer assesses as equivalent. A very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as well as a valid driver's license B, is required.

Oral and written proficiency in English is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience teaching emergency care, lifesaving techniques (SHLR), and working with functional variations. Current practical experience in any of the above areas is also a plus.
